diy: fingerprint necklace.
I’m obsessed with non-traditional Mama jewelery. The necklace with two angels who have birthstone bellies just isn’t my style.
I’ve been eyeing fingerprint jewelery for awhile now. It’s really unique but its crazy expensive! Especially for something I’m not positive I’d wear all the time.
So I made one. I love it!
Here’s how I did it:
(Excuse the poor pictures, they’re from my phone.)

What you’ll need:
- Gold necklace (I used gold because I own a ton of silver, just to mix it up, but silver would work too!)
-Gold jump rings (These can be purchased at any craft store, I got mine at JoAnn’s for $1.29)
-Rustoleum Mirror Finish Metallic spray paint (It haaaas to be mirror finish. It’s what makes it shiny.)
-Small pliers
-Clear polyurethane (I bought mine at the craft store in the paint section.)
-Oven Bake Clay (I used Sculpey brand because I had some.)
-Needle or toothpick.

1. Roll a small ball of clay, the size is dependent on how big you want or pendant.(I recommend making more than one per child, that way you can pick your favorite!)
2. Press finger into clay. Press straight down and roll from one side to the next. This will ensure the best print.

3. Poke a needle or toothpick into the top, this is where the jump ring will attach.
4. Bake at 275* for about 15 minutes, lay down a piece of wax paper to ensure the back doesn’t burn. (The last part isn’t necessary, just watch it closely.)
5. When cool, spray paint. Make sure you shoot the paint kind of far away so it doesn’t puddle on the fingerprint.
6. When dry, paint on your polyurethane. I did two coats.
7. Attach jump rings through the hole.
8. Attach to necklace.

9. Enjoy!!!
I hope this was easy to understand, if you have any questions let me know in the comments! Also, if you make this..show it off!!! :]
